This course will help students achieve a health-enhancing level of physical fitness through walking. They will explore warm-ups, cooldowns, nutrition, habit creation, hydration, cross-training, sleep routines, and stress management. Students will be required to create a fitness plan that includes a minimum of 45 days of activity.
This course uses our Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes (KSA) model to give students the opportunity to develop both real-world 21st Century Skills and Social and Emotional Learning Soft Skills to develop college and career readiness.
Knowledge: Walking for Fitness
Skill: Critical Thinking—Interpretation and Analysis
Before beginning any exercise program, consult with your doctor. Participants and their legal guardians assume all responsibility and risk associated with any participation in any exercise program or related activities.
For this course, you will need comfortable workout clothing and walking shoes. Walking Fitness requires 45 days of walking activity (45â50 minutes minimum per walk) to receive credit for the course.
