The AP Calculus BC series, which is the equivalent of a first- and second-semester college-level calculus courses, deepens students' understanding of math and physics. The course will go over Taylor polynomials and parametric functions while preparing students for their future careers. This is the second course in a two-part series that prepares students to take the AP Calculus BC exam.
Students will need a graphing calculator for this course; we recommend the TI-84 Plus. Review the College Board’s AP Exams Calculator Policy.
The BYU Independent Study course has a separate must-pass final exam that students are required to take in order to earn course credit. This is different from the AP exam, which students must take on their own.
BYU Independent Study does not administer the AP exam as part of the course experience, and the AP exam fee is not included in the course tuition. You will need to find a local school to administer the AP exam using the AP Course Ledger. Be aware that schools have an exam-ordering deadline of November 15.
The AP instructor will send students a join code to create an AP Classroom account and join their course section on the AP website.
