Course Description:
In this course, students will learn to understand and use American Sign Language through practice, self-assessment, modeled conversations, and graded video activities. They will also build their social awareness by learning how to act and communicate appropriately with the Deaf community. Students will learn ASL that is used in daily life by retelling ASL stories, discussing ASL representation in media, and analyzing current events. This is the fifth course in a six-part American Sign Language series, which aligns with ACTFL standards.
